About The Author

At the age of 28 years old, Jarred Agimudie decided to take a leap of faith to pursue a story that landed into his heart. After 8 years of engineering and living in the black-and-white world of a production facility, the suppressed creativity and emotions that all men in the United States struggle with began to manifest, and the journey of the creation of “Mountain & Seas” began.

Jarred was always a wide-eyed kid, living in his own imagination. He was quiet and kind, but lost in his own world. This led to a lifestyle of deep depression and isolation that really plagued him growing up. Yet in order to make his parents proud, or so he thought, he had to pursue a life in math and science, which led to his imagination dwindling and realism taking over.

Being the son of a 1st generation immigrant from Trinidad and Tobago, Jarred’s life growing up in Oklahoma was unique. Weekends look like tons of brown people coming together, eating wild foreign foods, and learning the importance of the family unit. He and his siblings grew up with family first in mind. They were always a tribe in the middle of a world they didn’t understand.

After fighting through college to get a degree in Chemical Engineering, Jarred spent the next years of his life working in the medical world in order to pay for the college of his younger siblings. He had no passion or drive for science, but the passion and drive was for his family. He became stable so they could follow their own dreams. So he chose to do this despite his struggling emotions and desire to leave the world of black and white and enter a world of color.

As his siblings were able to start to follow their dreams, the time finally came for Jarred to be able to step out and pursue his own. And so this novel was written during those last years of Engineering. He would work for hours but then write for hours. His passionate knowledge of the ancient world (Ancient Babylon, Persia, Israel, Greece, Rome, etc.), combined with the passion of his family, created the world of Neshama that we see today.
